MINERVA
It was our first night in America.

STILL VOICE
I felt a bead and heard the patter
strike against my cheek

JAKE FINDS HIS SUPER-POWER
I'm going to cream you, Jake!

IT WASN'T SUPPOSED TO BE THIS WAY

VIEW
We stood at the top of the cliff where, during the battle, Okinawans had been forced to jump to their deaths

WHAT HAPPENS WHEN THE LIGHTS GO OUT
As I neared home, the Golden Arches lit the sky. Wouldn't hot chocolate taste good before I turned in for the night?

A MEDITATION
I drill down to a single blade
My mind is open
I sense the green

ROOM 221
What stands out in Room 221 is Freddie.

LOOKS AREN'T EVERYTHING
Cousin Minnie Pearl, the undisputed queen of country comedy, wore her usual floral, flour sack dress and her famous straw hat with the $1.98

GOPHER THEATER
The ticket window faced the street, with a set of double green doors on either side.

KITTENS
The pin was two black cats sitting back to back with their tails entwined

THE DIME LADY
There were at least five of us over a fifteen to twenty year period drawn into her service by the lure of a dime.

A MEMORIAL DAY STORY
These are the war stories one rarely hears.

AUTHORS, HELP
Somebody raise George Orwell from his grave,
