Susan is my given name, but Hap is what I’m known by. I am a 4th generation writer who began writing poetry at the age of eight. 

 My father taught me how to rhyme and how to use humor in verse. (He also helped me with my high school writing homework; sometimes to my instructors’ dismay). 

 By the time I got into college, writing had become my passion. So when I got into a class I didn’t like, I simply put my notes to poetry. Then when I had the test, all I had to do was recite the poem to know the answers!  Writing has always been my Noah’s Ark.

 I continued writing while raising a family and passed the skill on to my children and my grandchildren. I passed the humor on too!
