I grew up on the Great Plains but moved to Southern California in my early thirties. I spent much of my career writing technical documentation for companies in the engineering/construction and computer industries. When time permitted, I wrote a little fiction, edited work for others, and did a bit of ghosting.

When I retired, I was finally able to turn to creative writing and found myself tending towards poetry. While the goal of a technical writer is to develop a manuscript that is clear and succinct, the goal of a creative writer is to take the reader on a journey, drawing them in through word song. I am still learning that latter craft, and heavens, isn’t it fun!
