George Gurney began writing short stores in grade school, had one accepted in a magazine and has been writing ever since. After a varied life which has greatly informed his work, he began in ernest after retiring. His most recent work is a series of detective mysteries, featuring Alan Wang of the Homicide Squad of the San Francisco PD. This piece is a short, first published in his compilation, “No Saddle for the Cowboy”.
